Any company that has traveling employees or clients should review these issues on an ongoing basis

  1. Chartering vs. Airline Travel:
There are finite, measurable benefits to charting and there are also subjective benefits that are more difficult to put a dollar value to. When considering a charter flight all issues should be discussed and reviewed.
Many times chartering can actually be financially beneficial!
  2. What to look for in a Charter Company:
The size and model of airplane is not the only important decision in choosing a charter company. Like most things in life, charter companies are not all the same and the differences are measurable. These differences should be reviewed to choose the safest and most reliable options for your trip.
  3. When to purchase vs. charter:
For individuals and companies that charter often, airplane ownership can have financial advantages and should be reviewed. There are several different options when considering ownership and they all have distinct benefits and shortfalls. When deciding on a purchase all phases should be done with the owner’s best interest being the primary goal, from the equipment selection, to brokering, to pre-purchase inspection.
  4. Setting up and maintaining a Flight Department:
Flight Departments are not just airplanes and pilots, there are many measurable requirements that will lead to a safe operation and that should be everyone’s highest priority. A flight department needs to be set up to achieve that goal while operating in a fiscally responsible manner.
  5. Pilot Employee Relations:
Pilots are very unique employees; they must be highly qualified, self-motivated, and reliable. They also have very unique work rule issues. Pilots can be your best insurance toward a safe operation. When hiring the best pilot the choice is: hire smart or manage tough!
